Dry Rubbed Baby Back Ribs
Everyone loves baby back ribs and their deliciously seasoned meat that falls off the bone . This recipe opts for an intense dry rub over a goopey, sugary sauce.
Ingredients
- Dry Rub:
- 1/2 cup paprika
- 3 tablespoons cayenne pepper
- 5 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
- 6 tablespoons garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons onion powder
- 6 tablespoons salt
- 2 1/2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 2 1/2 tablespoons dried thyme
- Braising Liquid:
- 1 cup white wine
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- Ribs:
- 2 whole slabs pork baby back ribs
Directions
- Combine all dry rub ingredients.
- (1) Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
- (2) Place each slab of ribs on a piece of aluminum foil, and rub a generous amount of the dry rub into the meat.
- (3) Cover each slab with the aluminum, and refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour.
- (4) Combine all ingredients of the braising liquid, and microwave for 1 minute.
- (5) Pour half of the braising liquid over each of the slabs, and wrap tightly in existing foil.
- (6) Place the ribs on a baking sheet and cook in the oven for 2 1/2 hours.
- (7) Pour the braising liquid into a medium pot and bring the liquid to a simmer. Cook until reduced by half.
- (8) Brush the glaze onto the ribs and cook on the barbecue (or broiler) until the glaze caramelizes lightly.
- (9) Brush with glaze again before serving.
